9×9 Block Puzzle: Spatial Reasoning & Working Memory
How to Play & Rules:
- Pick a polyomino block from the bottom tray and drag/drop or tap it onto the 9×9 grid.
- Permanent Placement: Once a block is placed, it immediately locks into place. Pieces cannot be rotated, slid, or undone.
- Line & Box Clears: Complete any full 9-cell horizontal row, 9-cell vertical column, or 3×3 square box to clear those blocks from the board.
- Combos & Streaks: Clearing multiple rows, columns, or 3×3 boxes in a single placement grants significant bonus multiplier points.
- Refill Engine: You receive 3 shapes at a time. The dock instantly replenishes with 3 fresh pieces as soon as all 3 are played.
- Game Over: The puzzle ends when none of the remaining pieces in your tray can legally fit anywhere on the board.
Cognitive Science: Geometric Planning & Mental Agility
Grid-packing puzzles stimulate visuospatial working memory and executive planning. By coordinating piece geometry against both orthogonal lines and 3×3 sector constraints, players strengthen their prospective planning and forward pattern recognition.
